the role:

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for assisting the finance and accounting team with general day-to-day accounting activities including accounts receivable and payables for both corporate, residential and commercial projects and income producing properties of Woodbridge. This role ensures that accounting items are recorded properly and timely processed for accurate presentation of the financial statements. The accounting assistant will work closely with the entire team under the direction of the Controller.  The term for the co-op will be for four months with the possibility of extension.


key responsibilities:

  • Manage the account receivable and payables function and organize all invoices and statements
  • Assist in reconciling credit cards and review expense reimbursements to prepare for payment processing
  • Prepare vendor payments
  • File accounting documents as required
  • Manage general accounts payable inbox and responding to any inquiries from consultants and vendors in a timely manner
  • General ledger reconciliation and bank reconciliations
  • Comply with accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
  • All other ad-hoc projects/duties as assigned


  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detailed oriented and hold a high level of accuracy
  • Familiar with bookkeeping and accounting procedures
  • Demonstrate flexibility, detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • A team player, able to work in a fast-paced environment, cope with changing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Maintains a professional image and a positive attitude
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently when required
