Minimum Experience Manager/Supervisor

the role:

The Controller reports to the VP Finance and will be responsible for managing and leading the accounting and finance team at Woodbridge. This role will play a critical role in creating processes and procedures for the team and overseeing the financial reporting for multiple development projects ensuring information is correct and timely. The Controller will work alongside the VP Finance in providing oversight on company budgets, reporting and overall financial strategies.

key responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all aspects of financial reporting for all corporate, development projects and incoming producing projects including monthly, quarterly and year end accounting reporting
  • Review and approve financials prepared by the accounting team to ensure it meets accounting policies and best practices
  • Prepare and review internal and external financial reports with the management team
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reporting, operational planning, cash modeling and forecasting, and managing corporate treasury needs
  • Review proformas and job cost reports for accuracy
  • Overseeing monthly loan draw process for development projects
  • Establish, implement, and monitor development accounting policies and internal controls to improve overall process and increase efficiency
  • Oversee and manage rental portfolio operations, including preparation of CAM reconciliations, tenant invoices, and regular KPI reports
  • Planning and coordinating Corporate/Group Tax compliance and filings with external accountants
  • Oversite and maintenance of government and regulatory filings (GST, annual reports, etc.)
  • Overseeing, assigning and maintaining efficient flow of work within the team while providing guidance and mentorship on best practices and processes


  • Qualified CPA designation or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in real estate and minimum 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Must be proficient in MS Office
  • Experience with Yardi is an asset
  • Comfortable in a data-heavy environment to able to distill relevant information from large amount of raw data
  • Team oriented, self-motivated, and collaborative with proven results
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills
